The Shoe Sting Continues!!!

What started as a flare up of frustration over the inability of the Center in treating the case of Anti-Sikh Riots of 1986 with integrity, unbiased judgment- making Jairnal Singh hurl his shoe at our Home Minister has picked up as a classic case of mockery of Absolute Democracy. I salute to the every word of our Constitution which states the Fundamental Rights for each citizen of India. But using the Right to expression as a weapon to vent the frustration is just not the way to find solutions to long and standing problems faced by the society! Two reasons come out of the recent spate of shoe hurls at prominent politicians, Our PM being the latest yesterday at a rally in Ahmedabad.
  1. Gaining significance mileage by the shoe hurler to get publicity of the media
  2. Instigations by other parties making the shoe hurler a scape goat
In the first instance none of the accused of shoe hurl wanted to get media glare. They wanted to vent out their feeling of angst and frustration, mental agony over an incident of the past;
In the second incidence its the flaring up of emotions of a innocent person by political parties, this is completely ruled out because all of the accused have had some kind of anger mounting in them which resulted in the incident.

Now the Ruling party at the Center accusing the Ruling party at the State in Gujarat asking for a unconditional apology is just not wanted at this point in time when the Opposition leader himself had second round of shoe hurl at another rally in the same Ahmedabad after our PM was hurled at.

Looking at this as another perspective where the inability of the common man getting justice, getting a ground to speak for his rights, getting a hand which helps him elevate over his problems is to be analyzed and thought over. A few points to analyze:
  • What measures or assurances the Political parties make and how much will they fulfill it after getting elected
  • What are the Leaders statements during rallies or public meetings which instigate people to do such offenses
  • What is the fate of the shoe hurler after the incident? Will the fate deter others doing it again?
These are some of the questions to ponder upon until the next shoe sting incident occurs!!
