The Run up to the General Elections'09 brought about a new inquisitiveness in me. Understanding the Politicians, Politics, Reading between lines of the rhetoric used by our politicians. For the last three days, what has been doing rounds in the three most respectable news channels-CNN IBN, NDTV, Times Now, is the verbal war by the PM in waiting Mr.L.K.Advani and Current PM Dr.Manmohan Singh! Adding to this are Mani shankar iyer, and Jayanti natarajan both trying their best to safeguard each others Masters.
At this juncture in the Indian scenario, the opposition just does not have any significant issue to throw tantrums at the ruling UPA! It got blow after blow over trivial issues it wanted to escalate on the national front. Be it the Mangalore pub attack to the recent Varun Gandhi's speech at Philibit. BJP neither did block Varun by denying him ticket, nor did it support his anti social remarks at the public meeting.
Congress on the other hand got very good response from Punjab and Delhi on denying tickets both to Mr.Tytler and Mr.Sajjan over the 1984 Anti-Sikh Riots.
This flagged off Mr.Advani to shower verbal abuse on Manmohan Singh saying he is a weak PM India has had and his decisions always revolve around 10 Janpath, (residence of Sonia Gandhi).
PM Manmohan Singh is a astute, wise, well informed and well read leader the world has ever seen in the recent times, a complement from the President of the most powerful nation US underlines this. Having heard at the rubbish of Advani, Manmohan Singh lashed out words which we call in हिन्दी" ईट का जवाब पत्थर से" said, He is matchless against Advani's speaking skills, presentation skills and public rhetoric, But said, great PM's are not made by speaking, they are made by taking corrective, cognitive actions, decisions in keeping the future of the country, its citizens in mind,..
This has been viewed by all sections of the society to be the best answer by our PM to the opposition party PM in waiting.
I will conclude stating that BJP should understand that " Those living in glass houses should not throw stones at others.. "
